In the year 2050, the government published the mandatory possession of so called LifeFiles, in which all your data is collected at one digital and surveillable location. The 49 is an interactive story (materialised as an app) that narrates the issue of data dominance, peaked with the retrieval and publication of data by the government. When an employee of the government finds their LifeFile is empty, the user is then presented with the conflict of chosing between a "safe" legal route or the defiant path.
